Did a search on PT and ran across a thread about this palm in the 'Freeze Damage' forum. Good luck finding anything there, so I'm posting again here.

Got five Veitchia metiti as bare root seedlings back in 2010 and man, they were slow. Really skinny, wimpy little growers for years. I actually thought about pulling them out, but glad I didn't as they are looking quite nice as a grouping nowadays. Worth a try.

Bret in San Diego posted a thread back in 2011 on his V. metiti and I was wondering if they were still hanging on.

Hi Tim,

I had 2 seedlings from Floribunda that did well for two winters. So I figured they'd be fine planting in ground at the foot of a V. joannis. It was a pretty exposed location though & both checked out the first Winter. (The learning curve continues). But,I've no doubt that in a more sheltered spot, they'd be fine here. All the other Veitchias seem to be, although they need some size first. So, I wish I had some to show you, but no. So I'm trying again. Your's are killer looking.
