After many years, i am selling and would like to know if I can dig these up to move to my new house. I'm pretty sure the buyer wont appreciate my palms.

I also have a pair of purple heart kings around 8 ft.

Might be possible but difficult in the narrow planter like that.

No way those Kings will dig. You would have to get a serious rootball for any chance.

Kings are very root sensitive. I don't know about Chambeyronias. How soon will you move? If you have at least a few weeks, I suggest you trench around yours one side per week to establish a generous rootball, then remove palm at the last minute. Trenching over time allows the palm to gradually compensate for the root damage rather than sustain that damage all at once. I trenched an Areca catechu dwarf I decided to repot over a period of 4-5 weeks during the height of rainy season. The move went well.

Also, I don't know where you live but your yard setup suggests Cali. Make sure you keep those palms irrigated as you go into dry season.

You can but it is hard work! I just moved and brought 47 palms with me and I am getting too old for that . Get the largest root ball you can handle and have some people help you, the more the better, as they are heavy. When I moved mine I just had my wife and myself and it was not easy.  Whenever I move again I will not be moving anything. I hope you have success!
