I collected a variety of seeds a month ago and had a lot when I got home. I soaked all seeds for two days. And put them in a wet paper towel and put them on bottom heat. I personally thought that the arenga engleri seeds would germinate the quickest out of all I had. I got seeds of trithrinax acanthacoma, arenga Engleri, Sabal bermudana, livistona decepiens, and a canariensis rupicola hybrid. Surprisingly the livistona seeds germinated in jut 4 days. Im curious to here from other people what the fastest seeds they have germinated.

Fastest I ever had were Copernicia macroglossa...soaked them overnight in water and they were popping the next morning!  Another batch germinated in 2 days.

Wow. Two days is fast. Did you order the seeds online or did you collect them yourself. I want to order seeds but I’m concerned about the viability of them

No, they were sent by a friend in Florida, so had a few days in the post...all I had to do was add water! LOL

The second batch were from a local palm and were cleaned bu fresh...they started popping in the bag before I had a chance to prepare them.

Phoenix canariensis and dactylifera, I had sprouts literally during the soaking phase or even when i forgot the seeds in slightly moist bag. :D

Washingtonias germinated really fast for me too. But when the seeds are really fresh, tropical palms can also sprout in few days.

Ondrej

I have opened the fruits of Salacca zalacca and Salacca magnifica to discover the seeds have already sprouted inside the ripe fruit, so i’d have to say those would be the fastest ones ive seen
