Best of luck on finding a large Bismarkias, sorry to hear the Caryota has to go. I was hoping it would have time to seed and perhaps you had changed your mind on dispersing them.

My Bismarkias are only strap leaves yet, but again I'm also in upstate NY.

Good luck Dave, I hope you find a nice specimen, you deserve it.

Have you by chance checked "Jungle Music"? I imagine Phil may have some beauties. I called him about the C. obtusa(gigas), but he had already sold out on the 3-5 gallon sizes. That's me ," a day late and a dollar short.

Dave,

Depends on how far you want to drive, with the Palm Transporter of Doom.  Phil at JM has a nice trash can style Bizzy posted on his blog.  Joe in Vista and Bill at MultiFlora in Fallbrook both have nice sizes (15-20g).
