80's, but I get the point

You are correct .The big freeze was Dec.24 1989. It must have been August 90 that I drove through the area. There was also a devasting freeze on Dec.26 1983.

El Oasis - beach garden, distinct wet/dry season ,year round 20-38c

Las Heliconias - jungle garden ,800m elevation,150+ inches rainfall, year round 15-28c

Well there’s you go, Valley winters can be quite warm. In between our cold fronts, which we mostly bounce back from fairly quickly, temperatures easily bounce into the 70s-80s with a couple 90 degree days.
