From the Butia x Parajubaea cocoides seeds I swapped with Patric Schaffer several years ago, one was clearly a pure Butia. Since he used B.paraguayensis and B. odorata in his hybridizing I'm curious which Butia species this is. It's not a very big one but it looks a "strictior" form .

Alt:1030m. Native palms: Queen, B. eriospatha, B. microspadix, Allagoptera leucocalyx , A.campestris, Geonoma schottiana, Trithrinax acanthocoma. Subtr. climate, some frosty nights. No dry season. August: driest month. Rain:1700mm

 

I am seeking for cold hardy palms!

That ain't a B odorata then. What it is I don't know. 

Millbrook, "Kinjarling" Noongar word meaning "Place of Rain", Rainbow Coast, Western Australia 35S. Warm temperate. Csb Koeppen Climate classification. Cool nights all year round.
