Hey guys, we have a palm tree in the backyard that is leaning at the base and curves to grow straight up. Is there any risk with leaving this tree as is? Should we cut it down? Any thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated. This is in Texas by the way. Thanks in advance.

It's called "character".  Some people pay $ for that.

Being in irving check the trunk for soft spots. Several robusta were damaged in 2011 resulting in soft spots on the trunk that will comprise their structural integrity.  If all the wood is hard then you have nothing to worry about.

How long is the palm in the ground?

Thank you all for the input. We love how it looks. Just didn't know if there was any risk of it falling. Thanks for the tip @TexasColdHardyPalms - we will be sure to check it out.
