Hello Dear Fellows palm collectors!

I was surprised by this Palm in front of jardim da Estrela (garden of star) in Lisbon. I was curious to know what is this, surely is not a Phoenix Canarienis or dactyfilera. Also i don’t think is a reclinata. If anyone have some hint about it..

Unfortunately I am not an expert in Phoenix, but it is good to see a post about Lisbon, hopefully someone will be able to answer.

I think the inflorescence is to short for dactylifera.

Yes, this is P. dactylifera.

Male inflorescences are this short in P. dactylifera. Female infl. are much longer...

Why do you think that it is »surely not« a Ph dactylifera?

Hello! Thank you all by the replies!

I though it was not a dactylifera because the trunk seems different (maybe because of huge amount of “fur”).

I also check than in the old garden in front of this palm there is a P.reclinata really very old, and perhaps this can be a híbrid between that reclinata and dactylifera.

As reclinata is usually in cluster, perhaps this make some sense. :D

I can’t undestand you again. Since Ph dactylifera produces usually suckers it is a clustering palm; why should that palm be a hybrid?  As @Phoenikakias already wrote it is a typical dactylifera.
