I'm in New Orleans for the month and I wanted to check out the bayou while in Louisiana. I got some good pictures of Sabal minor while in Jean Lafitte park.

Nice!! Never seen photos of them in habitat, those big ones look very distinct from other Sabal minor variants, like they’re a different species. That whole understory environment looks very majestic.

Sabal minors in LA are very green. Here in NC they seem to have a blueish tint to them.

I'm here for the month doing an externship at Tulane. Last month i was in Charleston for the same reason. It's been a nice chance to make an appearance for the purposes of matching into a residency program while seeing some of the historic cities in the south-east.

Not really a party person, though the French quarter is pretty interesting from a historical/architecture perspective!
