I cut my banana trees down for the season today, this was their second year of growth. When I first got them I got one small sucker from my neighbors bananas that he dug up for me, it barely had a root on it. I planted it, and it multiplied over the two years of having it. Keep in mind these get a lot of shade in the summer, so they are not as fast as if they were in full sun. Here are the trunks, which I also cut down. I dug up two very small suckers that were just coming up. I am going to try to grow them over the winter in pots.
