Sabal bermudana: Fresh Seeds

A few weeks ago I posted a topic about my seeding Sabal bermudana in the Discussing Palms subforum. Quick summary: In 2008 I received seeds of this endangered Sabal from a PTer who lives on Bermuda. Palm in the following photos is an offspring of that palm. It has started seeding but so far has produced very small crops of seeds held close to the trunk - perhaps because it evolved on a tiny island subject to North Atlantic winds. It grows shorter than other trunked Sabals, with a stocky trunk and round crown of blue/green leaves. I collected just under 200 seeds this month from my mother palm with no more in the offing this year. This species of Sabal is notable for tolerating cooler summers better than any other species, although it still loves as much sun and heat it can get. Regular water and occasional fertilizer increase its growth rate.
