The Palm Society of South Texas will meet at the Mercer Arboretum in Humble, Texas, June 23rd, 2007, to commemorate the memorial bench we purchased in memory of Robert Lee Riffle.  

We will meet at La Cabana Restaurant at noon that day for lunch.  At 2:00 we will gather at the bench, which is placed in the Mercer's tropical garden near Bob's favorite palm there, a Livistona saribus.  

The Mercer Society is accepting donations at this time to complete the memorial project.  Additional components of the project include a plaque and a wind chime.  Some Otatea acuminata, Mexican weeping bamboo, has already been acquired with donations collected so far.  Visit PSST's Robert Riffle Memorial Fund page for more information.  All of Bob's friends are welcome to attend.
