Well, I thought I'd let this beautiful palm hula it's way onto your device screen this morning. It's developed into one of those 'perfect' palms, not too big, not too small, great color, amazing habit, and a stand alone specimen palm. (shovel for scale of course)

It has color similar to Archontophoenix purpurea, but a bit more intense and more depth. It doesn't get too tall either.

Beautiful palm! They don't like hail though...

Gold Coast, Queensland Latitude 28S. Mild, Humid Subtropical climate. Rainfall - not consistent enough!

Ha, Daryl, it's not the hail I'm worried about, it's the snow! :D:D

This is my largest. These are very substantial pinangas. Mine have been flowering for a few years, but have not produced viable seeds. Mine have survived being covered with volcanic ash on several occasions .

From my jungle to your jungle Scott.  P. speciosa and volcanos, there seems to be a theme here.

Mine produces viable seed regularly now and I usually just give them away as gifts.

Happy holidays!

Beautiful Tim. Gotta 4inch from Jeff, planted it in wet, black Kuliouou clay, hope it makes it.
