Does this look like Livistona rigida?

The never had that red color I associate with the seedlings of L mariae,or L rigida.  But the leaf segments remained pointed upward even after a hurricane (well, largely).

Land O Lakes FL, a suburb on the North Side of Tampa, FL

Summers are great, 90f/32c in the day & 70f/21c at night with plentiful rain & sun

Winters are subtropical with occasional frosts and freezes. Tropical cyclones happen.

We have a few Royal palms in the warm microclimates but Coconuts freeze.

Probably L. decora

Not decora.  We have 20+ of those on site.  The leaf segments are several times larger.  The leaves themselves are also considerably larger than decora although their color is and luster are similar.

Not rigida. This is C. rigida in habitat in Cuba.

I'll bet he wishes it was Copernicia rigida instead of Livistona rigida, but they look good too!  :)

First mistake Meg ever made, give her a break.

The Color is right, I think it does look like L rigida.

I can't grow many Copernicia here, its too dry and cold.  Meg can grow many of them though.  She's warmer and her soils are more like those in Cuba than mine (a very general comment here because Cuba's soils are really diverse).  If I had her planting site, I'd have thought Copernicia too!  She does have some good Livistona though and I have a L muelleri she donated to the IPS in a fund raising campaign.  She is a very nice, and knowledgeable person, as is her husband.

No doubt about that - I merely wanted to express admiration for the Copernicia rigida as well as the Livistona rigida.  I can't grow it here either.  Sorry if my post came across in a negative way @PalmatierMeg it certainly wasn't meant to be.

Ooops! My bad. Sorry. I'll blame my failing eyesight, esp. my legally blind left "Livistona" eye. Every time I see "rigida" I think "Copernicia." Knee jerk reaction. I'll read more carefully next time.

Actually, Livistona rigida is a new species for me. I'll check it out.

Here’s my Liv rigida, pic is a little dark as it’s late in the day. Maybe I can get a better pic tomorrow morn.

Looking at those habitat phots, i dont think its rigida.  The fronds are a different shape.  I will get some photos soon, along with some measurements.
