"Mint Bush" mystery; ID needed

Eric in Orlando

Recommended Posts

Anyone know what this maybe? It is currently flowering heavily. It was donated as a "mint bush" and is about 5ft tall. Looks kind of like a Plectranthus. The leaves are scented, more of an oregano-herb scent than mint.

Closest thing i could find to the plant in your pictures, thus far is Tetradenia riparia, sometimes called Ginger Bush,  from South Africa.

Apparently is Dioeceous as well but easily roots from cuttings.

I had come across Prostanthera while researching but it just didn't match up. But Tetradenia riparia sure looks like a match.

Thanks!
