Hey Ryagra,

How old are your CG seedlings?    I have some that are about 9 months old.  They have begun to turn a purple color and become rounded.  They do grow slow.  Congrats on yours.:greenthumb:

How exciting! These were sown arojnd Halloween. They’ve been in my sun window since then. I forget about them most of the time until I flood it with water. I just noticed the trunks today. They’ve been just “needles” for quite some time.

Here’s mine now.

Standard large paper clip and soda straw for perspective.

@Meangreen94z  Did you start that from seed?????    :floor:                How do you keep that cactus bed from staying wet, in HOUSTON?

Posted

They handle the rain better than you would think. As long as their roots don’t sit in standing water, most cactus seem fine. The elevated bed in the photo is made up of 50% haydite, which is similar in concept to pumice. At my previous house they sat in a mixture of sand, granite, and soil. They did fine, but it retained too much moisture for a lot of my Agave.

Well,  I salute your bodacious Cactus bed!:shaka-2:
