It was a good day to move a bunch of trachycarpus that I germinated from seeds out of British Columbia into their own container. I found these neat trays that house 21 seedlings but fit into a 10 x 20 plant tray. It’s very convenient to use and the bottoms of each planter has a large hole. So I put some clay pebbles on the bottom for drainage and to help keep the roots from making their way out. My seedling media is coco coir and perlite. It seems to be doing well for these palms

The end result

I also put some larger windmills with their cup in the other spots just to save space

Nice job.  I recycle pots from annuals or other small plants I buy.  I repotted some last week, except that I grossly underestimated how many I actually have.  I emptied one community pot and got 68 seedlings which 62 went into pots and 6 directly into the garden.  My main issue is that I still have 3 more to process.

Sometimes I’m not upset when they all don’t germinate. We have our garden here all perennials so no planting every year. It’s nice because as spring arrives all of a sudden this place comes alive. I just like to experiment with the palms. Indoor gardening has been therapeutic for me
