One state away makes a world of difference.  I am envious.  I know they would sell here, whenever big box stores get palms in they don't last long.  If you see something you like you need to buy it on the spot.

Mule palms are fairly common now in local nurseries here in Phoenix as are some Sabals along with Brahea. In BB stores they’re non existent. Med fans, Queens, Mexican Fans, Canary and Pygmy dates. That’s it. Bismarckia are common at Lowe’s now.

I envy CA and FL selections.

In the Orlando area every HD and Lowes carries silver Bismarckia.  Most of the time there are at least a few big ones, ranging from 5G to 25G.  I've even seen a couple of 45G ones with a nearly mature trunk diameter!  Prices range from $50 to about $200, which is really not that expensive.

@OC2Texaspalmlvr I'm headed down to Houston with a few extra 5G in the back of my truck tomorrow.  They are $25ea and plant out around 3' tall.  They are the most cold hardy variant of bismarckia and queens leaf burn before these.

Y'all

And when you plant them, give 'em room.

Sideways and vertical. Oh yeah.

Armor-plated splendor, don't ruin it by stuffing into a too-small place.

I gave mine a whopping 8.5 feet center-center between an Arenga Engleri and an Allagoptera Caudescens, that should be more than enough, right?  :floor:

Lol! I thinks that's Lowes set price on any palm. Everything here is $199. Sabals, Washies, etc... Most are under watered & look like crap. We have a local nursery that sells the 15 gal for $125-$150.
