Someone (not a a Palm Talker) asked me what to do about this obviously damaged queen palm.

I suggested honestly that it would be best to remove it because it appeared the the trunk was damaged by rot so badly that it was permanently weakened to the point it would be a hazard a la my late Caryotas of Damocles.

Anyone agree, disagree?

Guy says he'll remove it, I referred him to a remover, he didn't seem too surprised.

Dave you didn't want to step up yourself?  That puppy will go down in a heartbeat!  Lean on it too hard above that rot and it would likely split.  What will  you be encouraging him to replace it with?  There must be something in a pot from the garden of doom that would go nicely.

Oh, yes, the point about new palms has been made.

I've also invited him to the PSSC meeting in July.

I'm not fiddling with that thing. I've plenty of my own editing to do.
