Queen Palms in Niantic CT

The Queens are back in Niantic But did they ever leave? the grass looks quite established around them and I see Christmas lights around the trunk too.  Could these have been wrapped for the winter?  they do look Bigger every year.....

The first one is in view before you get to the boardwalk and Bar and grill on the street

The other 3 are by the water in front of the bar.  This one is fairly larger than the others.

Wrapping these wouldn't work in CT, so they must have been planted in the spring.  They should last until sometime in November.

It wouldn't hurt to ask some of the employees at the restaurant in the background. Maybe they know a little bit about them. Either way its interesting to see such large palms that far north in the ground!

Yes, I would ask them. 

Sometimes restaurants here (about 3 hours north of Niantic, CT) plant palms in the ground for the season for eye appeal, but obviously not left during winter.

They treat them as annuals

I could not believe they would make it through the winter with x-mas lights so even though they look established I'm guessing they are annuals.  I think you're posting this as a way to show off your car, I'd never do that, Like my front lawn? Please note there are palms in the picture.

I lived in CT but never tried to keep keep palms in ground. Those palms look like they've been in place a while. No real evidence of recent planting, we need more info!

Yeah it is. I do love the older cars too, yours is sweet. looks like a full cage inside so I'm guessing the engines not standard equipment. Oh nice sables.

Same here! It's the first vette I ever liked cause it looks nothing like a vette.
