Fresh Livistona muelleri seeds

Got several hundred extra Liv muelleri seeds. I’ve grown these before and they are really beautiful, (in 3 gal pots they resemble Copernicia, stiff like). Cracking shells greatly improves germination.

$8.50/50 or $15/100 Beachpalms@cfl.rr.com

I think I reminded most who requested these, but just in case. Remember to crack and remove outer shell after cleaning fruit, (and before planting) These are not like the large round Livistona seeds where you don’t need to bother. I crack these like I do buccaneer seeds. Put cleaned dry seed on some newspaper, on concrete sidewalk or something. Roll around with foot applying gentle pressure, they crack off pretty easy. Then re-soak  and plant. Much better germination this way.

Well, offhand, besides Pseudophoenix, I also do this to Licuala's as well. Many seeds have a outer shell, but some are softer, like Copernicia, that don't need removing.

Going through all my seed baggies today, was surprised to see these sprouted already.
