I had two beautiful buds on this and then noticed that one was turning slightly brown.  It dropped off just as the other one was beginning to open.  I could see that something had munched on this bud as it began opening and the damage is quite apparent now that it's fully opened.  I never saw anything on it or the telltail signs of snail/slug goo anywhere near where it hangs.  Still puzzled by what it did?

Having seen this on some of my own Catts / Catt type orchid specimens in the past, thinking this is damage from Katydids or some other Grasshopper relative.  Thereare also tiny slugs that leave minimal slime trails i've found damaging flower buds before also.

Definitely a possibility as I do have those little buggers as well as occasional grasshoppers.  Damage looks like how they gobble things too.
