Identify Palm in North Myrtle Beach

Help identify please! Palm in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina that I took today. We just had Dorian roll through last night, but most of the Palms handled it quite well.

I think it may be a Mexican fan palm, or Mediterranean Fan Palm? I see them all over, but not as common as the Butia’s and Palmettos of course. This one was particularly tall, so I grabbed a photo of it.

I’m a new member. I live in Myrtle Beach, and I have a pretty large amount of Palm photos to eventually share, from Myrtle Beach of course, and from Hunting Island State Park near Hilton Head Island, SC.  I also have some from a trip to Miami and Orlando, Florida. I also have a few from my trip to Bogota, Colombia, which was cool to see tropical exotic Palms at such a high altitude! I love Palms, and my family thinks I am insane. I am not quite as knowledgable yet as some of you, but I know a lot more than the average person of course, being somewhat obsessed with Palms. I mostly know the terms for my local palms. Nice to meet you all!

Welcome to PT. It’s good to have another member from SC, there aren’t too many.

Those are some nice Washingtonia robusta! You stop seeing them last long term once you get north of the extreme Southeastern part of North Carolina.
