Where did you collect the borinquena?  I brought back a handful of roystonea seeds from San Juan that need an I.D..

The first 2 photos are of the parents.  The most common palms were Adonidia merrilli, cocos, and whatever this pritchardia is:

By the way, I like your first pic, it portrays a classic stamp of the Old San Juan street: The Roystonea, the brick street, and the "piraguero" (shave ice vendor).

And no doubt, the crown of that very same palm is this one:

That palm is right next to the "puerta de San Juan". The only remaining door through the Spanish walls into the walled city.

great pix! i love the green crownshaft on those royals!

its funny that beach plants look the same in all the tropical places i've seen.if you had to guess where you were from the plants only it'd be dern near impossible :D

camera is a fujifilm A350 5.2 MP.  You can get newer ones that are much better, but the price was right for this.
