I've put this out in many places to try an get an identification so I figured I would try it here.

- It is a common plant, but new to the nursery. It was pulled for sale during the chaos of the 'Ganza setup and the tag was lost. I could think of a few things it is not. After asking all the plant people and volunteers during the first weekend, no one had a clue. It has silver foliage on tan stems. The leaves are about 2-inches (5cm) in length and have scalloped edges and the purple flower is about 2cm across. Seems to grow like a low scrambling shrub with long branches, probably reaches about 6 ft. (2m) in height maybe more. It grew fast, if that helps. The photos were taken with flash in morning light.

I forgot to check if the block sold out or not, but I believe there are more plants that may be pulled. It should have a name, plus I could make a card for it.

From the angle in the pictures, looks like a Melochia sp. Possibly M. tomentosa, aka Pyramid Bush. Thinking the Genus was the Stercula section of the Hibiscus family, then lumped into the latter later ( seen it listed under both ) Great, woody perennial / small-ish- shrub. Takes a lot of heat. Grows well ..and big in some places I've seem it in gardens.. even here in the Desert.

Yes that's it! Thanks for the quick I.D. We did have it once a couple of years ago. I thought it all sold but I guess we had a few left over.
