I have been very interested in palm classifications, but I feel like the old system of classification that relies on physical characteristics is quite outdated.
I have been looking for DNA based classification and I came across the paper I've attached.
I also extracted the Phylogenic tree in a png and svg format.
I find it very interesting, but it is probably most useful if you are into creating mules.

Also, as I suspected parajubaea should perhaps be called paracocos as that is its closest relative. :)
Somebody please cross parajubaea with cocos nucifera!!  We need cold hardy coconuts, don't we :)

I'm also into taxonomy big time. Thanks for creating the topic! This is actually outdated quite a bit. By about 10-11 years. I have to run now, but will post more recent resources later on.
