Jubaea in decline, what is happening?

I had planted two Jubaeas very closely together, cause I had been thinking that the older one would not survive. Finally it made it and as the stems of both plants were gradually expanding, I knew that one day they would compete for their lives. Now the smallest one has entered a rapid decline process but I am not sure about the actual causes. Does it get 'ran over' by the bigger one or is it something else like fusarium wilt or infestation by rpw (for last possibility European growers are perhaps more able to answer)?

Jubaea will do this when they get extremely dry. That's about the only thing that I've seen cause sudden death.

Maybe as mentioned above the larger palm has literally sucked the water and life out of the smaller palm.

Agree with others looks like a water stressed. Try to give more water and will get better hopefully.
