On the road and saw a palm-like exotic that I thought only grew in Hawaii. Indigenous to the Philippines, it does resemble an exotic tropical palm:

Really neat habitat photos. It's very rare in the US. I tried a 4' tall potted one once but couldn't keep it alive long term no matter what I tried. Other Ficus grow aggresively but not this one.

I was surprised also but could not get closer. Traffic was bearing down!

I planted this one from a 3-gal in 2017 here in Fort Lauderdale.1910533870_Ficuspseudopalmata.thumb.jpg.c1de8299083a58a651bcedbfad2b8c9d.jpg

That tree is gorgeous! Have tried to find a small one, with no success.

That is a beauty and only two (2) years! Surprised we do not see this palm like exotic more often.

Cool Ficus. If only they weren't so rare and expensive. There was a 2' one listed on eBay recently - starting bid $100+. I passed. I posted this topic about my late one in 2014.
