Nice! So is Copper Oxycloride the same as liquid copper fungicide or a new compound?

Posted

Haven’t seen any liquid copper fungicides with that ingredient, but I found it available online.

Topsin is Thiophanate-Methyl, which is readily available and not too expensive.  Clearys 3336F, Southern AG thiomyl and Banrot all use that.   Copper oxychloride seems fairly cheap too.  If it actually has a 100% cure rate that would be awesome!

Topsin has 71% Thiophanate-Methyl, active ingredient while Cleary’s has 41.25% Thiophanate-Methyl.  Found it on Amazon for $80 for 5lbs.

Could some one recommend dosage of Topsin for root drenching? Particular  metric system is not binding, as there is always the facility of conversion.

Yep, and the WP is generally way better for storage than an oil solution.  I found the same seller on fleBay selling it for $75.  I've been using Banrot for stuff, which is 25% Thiophanate-Methyl and 15% Etridiazole.  On a price per lb of active ingredient, Topsin is hard to beat!

So nobody knows the dosage of Topsin for pink rot? Funny!

The linked article says Copper Oxychloride 300gm/100L "spray the tree heart" and Topsin 5g/tree as a soil drench was the rate they used.  So I'd guess just take 5g in maybe 2 gallons of water and pour around the tree you are treating.  It doesn't seem to specify how much Copper Oxychloride was sprayed on each "tree heart."

Here for a compound called Neotopsin with 70% T-M content is recommended a solution of 70 - 100 gr per 100 lt water. This makes roughly 7 gr per gallon.

More like 3 grams / 2 gals.   or 1.5 grams/ gal.

The rates the study used was 5 grams/tree.
