Just noticed a few things on my Filifera and Robusta.

The Robusta is yellow on the main spear but in spots as seen, there is some spiderweb looking thing down in the hole and there is a black mark on the backside of the petiole.

on the Filifera the main spear is yellow on one of the sides as shown in the photo and the tips of the new frond being pushed out has around 1 cm on yellow on the tips is this normal?

Otherwise they seem completly Normal other than that the Robusta is growing a bit slow and is not putting out that many fronds.

Is this just my OCD acting up or is there something i should worry about and fix asap?

I hate to bump threads, but if someone could tell me if this is just some wear and tear or something more serious i would greatly appriciate IT. Thanks!

The white stringy stuff is normal. The brown on the spear looks like it had some type of problem but it looks like it’s growing out of it. I’m sure it’ll be fine. You couldn’t kill a washingtonia if you tried.

What palm spear? The first one or the one in the last pic? Both? Should i Apply peroxide?

Just let it be, growing pains. These grow so fast you’ll never notice it. Too much love can kill the palm. It’s healthy, it’ll be okay.

Great news thanks, yes they are still growing good. the Filifera has pushed like 4 new leafs since i planted it in November or October. The strange this is that the Robusta is growing a lot slower, it has only pushed 2-3 fronds since i planted it in September. Could this have something to do with the fact that the Robusta is a lot bigger and therefore takes longer to root? The Robusta was also extremly skinny when i got it but it seems to improve, is it possible it is using most if its resources on other things than pushing new fronds and will eventually grow faster as the wheater warms up?

The robusta I planted in April acted the same way. It spent roughly the first 5 months just trying to get established. Very slow growth as well as transplant shock damage. Once it made it through that period tho it exploded. The first pic is from April, the second is January.

I'd imagine that transplant recovery time varies from palm to palm, even two seemingly identical ones may react differently when planted side-by-side.  I planted two L. Chinensis on the West side of my house around April 2018, they were basically rootless when planted.  They didn't move for about 4-5 months, then suddenly popped out frond after frond.  So as long as yours are pushing new fronds they are probably okay.  As another poster said, if the sorta brown/rotten spot on the spear is moving out and it's green below, then it is probably okay.

yes the Robusta is still growing although slowly. but yes it is activly pushing fronds. The Filifera is doing very well frond wise and has pushed out a ton pretty imidiatly since i stuck it in the ground.
