Are people really paying $100 for a 1 gallon seedling of these?

No idea if people are paying that much , only website online I have found so far that has this palm. I'm also in the market for one cause of the suppose extra hardiness over parents and the good ol hybrid vigor it displays =)

Thank you for following up!  In my travels, I ran across some Foxtails and some Veitchias that have survived here in Polk over the last 15 years, maybe closer to 20 in the case of the Foxtail.  I've got a seedling started from the Foxtail parents and am waiting on the Veitchia to finish fruiting.  I figure a hybrid between the resulting offspring might be a really good one for my area.

Absolutely it would be a good thing. I'm hoping to snag one of these hybrids, to try it in a protected space one day here in 9a =)

Hi! This is Shelby with Premier Growers, Inc. We have a couple left (f2) seedlings, 1 and 3g size. I also have some 1g (seed collected from a foxtail) that are looking more “foxy” as they grow. (Veitchia is within range of seed collected so definitely possible) oh, and the price is set based on some ebay sales (bidding of 1g 2 of them sold for over $250. Give me a call 239-318-0460 and we can chat more and work something out. The website is new and I am building it myself, so we are adding inventory when I can. My husband and I grow our palms all from seed, and this was my hobby that has turned into more. So, bare with us working out the kinks. We do ship all of our palms, so getting them to you won’t be a problem. We started premier growers a little over 3 years ago,  and we both work other full time jobs as well. But, the nursery is growing and gaining attention quick. Excited we can share our passion for palms and get to meet others who share the same passion. Thanks for reaching out and let me know if I can help in anyway.

HI Shelby,  I am no geneticist, (retired building contractor) but I remember high school biology.  I do not believe that the F2 is reliable to show the same characteristics as the F1.  :)   Read   the entries 'F2 hybrids', and 'Disadvantages'.

That's a ridiculous price to pay - unbelievable.    We have been selling them for $15-$25 at the Garden Club's March in the Park sale @ Jaycee Park in Cape Coral.
