Almost a dozen years ago I received one seedling of Syagrus flexuosa from PTer Mark Heath. When we bought and started landscaping our 3-lot garden site I planted it in the corner of one 16'x16' box. It has grown very slowly to be about 8' tall. It flowers on and off all year and produces orange seeds about 2x the size of a queen's but over the years I've been unsuccessful in attempts to germinate them. S. flexuosa is supposedly a clustering palm but mine remains stubbornly solitary. I admit it is not the most attractive Syagrus in the world but it does have one advantage over comelier queens: It has not fallen victim to fusarium wilt that wiped out all my queens and mules. If I could ever get its seeds to germinate I will have offspring to share.

That sure is a slow grower... at least you have seeds though. How tall do they get?
