A friend came to visit and they noted the spines on the Acrocomia and others.

A kid said, “Look Daddy a toilet Paper Palm tree.”

It's a little hard to figure out where to plant dangerous palms, isn't it? We want to admire their weapons but not be impaled by them.  Of course I use hills but then climbing to photograph some becomes a challenge.

I got 2 from you at the 2012 banquet. One for me and one for my father in law rocky. Unfortunately acrocomia doesn’t grow spines on its root as rockys got munched by gophers. Everytime he comes to my house he looks at mine and says “ I’m not sure if I’m sad or happy mine died”. Personally it’s one of my favorite palms.

Oh yeah, now I remember.

Hope Rocky still rocks . . .

I don't have any more to sell or give at this time, though my specimen is loaded with seeds now.

So glad to hear yours is doing so well. They're not always the easiest thing to grow and keep happy.

If you mean the one with the flared and ringed trunk, it’s just a Euterpe edulis. A fairly robust one at that. I wish I had a nice sunny hotspot to try a Carpoxylon though. I still doubt it would be terribly happy though.
