Another of my favorite Genus infected, that’s 5 now. Note the telltale reddish bronzing of leaf indicative of Lethal Bronzing? This has only infected my Coccothrinax in the yard, no other Species infected. Must be especially tasty.

Sorry to see this especially since it isn't a one off for you but your 5th to experience this demise.  I haven't read up on Lethal Bronzing in that I don't think it is an issue here in Southern California.  Is there anything you can do to stop it or proactively treat other palms in the garden so it doesn't spread?

Charlene so sorry to see this. I have seen these palms in person and have some coccothrinax (1 of which I got from you) and I’m hoping this doesn’t come hit my yard. Sorry this has happened.

I have no idea if this stuff works.

Charlene,

Have the other palms croaked?  Have you had them tested by the IFAS lab?

I think the common method of injecting OTC is probably not feasible for relatively thin trunked palms like Coothrinax.

I wonder if DMSO has been used to carry OTC into palm tissue?

So many species,

so little time.

Yes, three have died, the Cocco hiorami is still there, but not for long, now this hybrid is infected. The lab wants $85 to test a sample, then inoculate all my Cocco's (if I could even do it) every few month, would be too expensive.

Heartbreaking, Charlene. One of my favorite genera, too.

Charlene have you removed the infected one to avoid further spread,?

No, it's difficult to just remove a palm when one leaf is dying. The worse thing is the shade loss. Walking around this morning, at least one more probably has it. It has not affected any other species and there are two Sabal palmettos in the yard plus a couple other Sabals it hasn't touched. From reading about LB, Sabal palmetto suppose to be a favorite. I think it like's Coccothrinax better. Below, C. hiorami in process of dying(probably should remove this one).  And the other palm around by the pool that I think is infected Cocco. miraguama 'roseocarpa'.
