I've attached a picture of my Date Palm. It's generally looking good. New growth and appears healthy. But as you can see there are suckers deep in there that I just cannot get out. Any recommendations on how to get these suckers out? I've tried pulling and cutting but it just seems to make a mess. Any tools I could use? Will they eventually die away or will I be dealing with them forever?

Sawzall...  You will be dealing with sucker removal for at least another 15 years. It's just the nature of the tree.No way to make it stop other than pick a different species for a replacement.

It is a tool you will use all your life on many more jobs than just trimming palms.
