Hello,

I got a bamboo palm tree growing indoors. It’s very healthy, always green and looks happy. Within the last year some of the stalks have started to lean out with the top quarter of the stalks growth bending over a decent amount. These stalks seem like they’re getting top heavy. On one of the stalks, the top leaf ended up bending and now hangs directly down.

Anyway, what are some suggestions of what I could do to help the plant? I know I could stick in a long stick and simply wrap some string around to help support the stalks. Do you think there’s something else that could be done? The plant is about 5 ft tall. The stalks in the middle of the pot for the most part are able to suppprt their growth. Good chunk of the stalks around the edge are leaning over. Could I prune these stalks? There’s enough where cutting down one or two of the stalks won’t change the appearence too much. I’d be more so worried if it’d really hurt the plant. If I cut them back to the base, will new growth pop up around the stalks base? Yes yes I know the plant is slow growing and any new growth would take a while to fill in.

The plant has always been inside. Stays right by a south facing window.

Thank you
