Sabal “louisiana” growth speed...incredible!

I’ve sold all but one of my Sabal louisiana, as I intend to keep it and plant it at my own house when I move...this palm is in a seven gallon pot and is around four and a half years old from seed. Has anyone else noticed these are incredibly fast growers for Sabals? I love them!99D9737B-1920-4905-9410-9DFC3F4F3D61.thumb.jpeg.21628eb5d30ea803bb70cdb6dadb4637.jpegD7B6631C-C85A-43B5-9A2C-4B08F35AF3C3.thumb.jpeg.a234a5a604585b6a30444117cf15f19d.jpeg

Looks great. I don't have an exact comparison, but seems reasonable for a well taken care of Sabal. I have a Texas Sabal that is two and a half years old (since germination) and it seems to be growing at a similar rate.

This is another great sabal and would love to get a hold of some seed. I have one that I bought about a year ago as a band sized 5 leafer. That puts out fronds as frequent as my S.Causiarum. Obviously not going as vertical as the big guy but fun to watch the growth. I'll try to snap a new pic of it and show the progress for a year, tomorrow =)

I germinated a sabal palmetto seed a few weeks ago, first leaf is slow but its opening up!

Between the three extra-hardy trunking Sabals of Louisiana, Brazoriensis and Birmingham, this is the one I would grow just for the speed advantage

Sabal louisiana and S. bermudana are my favorites, largely, for rate of growth.

Finally took a pic , less then a year from a band size pot from Junglemusic =)

5 growing seasons on these photos 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022.  Louisiana form a trunk very slowly and this one has the beginnings of one 12" wide by 8" tall but trunking is many years away really.
