Dypsis onilahensis Flowering in Modesto

Recommended Posts

Here is another first for me here in Modesto .

My Dypsis onilahensis is flowering.

This palm is in the hottest part of my garden on the west side of my house in full sun ( right next to where my dypsis decipiens was)

This palm was planted about 10 years ago as a small gallon size and it has gotten a little freeze damage on the trunk furthest from my house when the temp drops to 26f , but I think the palm will take a bit more cold if under the canopy of a tree etc.

Nice thing is that since it’s a clumper, if one trunk dies another regrows.
