Bactris militaris was a holy grail palm for me. This one is about four years old . It’s only about 50 cm tall . Seems healthy, just really slow. I was hoping it would be large enough to plant out in its permanent spot by now.

I wonder if it needs more heat than my highland garden provides. It gets morning sun and then very bright shade. I keep it in my carport which has a translucent roof,

El Oasis - beach garden, distinct wet/dry season ,year round 20-38c

This is one of my favorites.  I put one in ground about a year ago and it gets more sun than I would like it to get but still does good for me and I also live at 1500 ft on the big island Hawaii.. I will try to get a pic when I get off work
