Acanthopheonix rubra

I have one Acanthophoenix rubra for sale.  It's in a 3g citrus pot, but easily is a 5g sized palm.  $50

If you have ever wanted to grow this species, or if you have tried before and failed, I strongly recommend this particular plant.  I don't usually (ever?) add marketing hype to my posts, but this batch of A rubra is clearly special.  From this seed batch I did not lose a singe plant from germination to either 1g or 3g size (depending on when I sold them...even threw some away, just got sick of potting up). I tried two other batches of seed from the same mother plant and literally never got a single plant past the 3 leaf stage.  There was one runty plant in this batch that I stuck outside my greenhouse to die in full sun...but kept watering it occasionally...it's still alive more than a year later.  I planted three of these in my garden - 1 in a very hot, full sun exposed location, 1 in a shady and warm location, and one in a fully exposed lower area of my yard that gets COLD (Pritchardias get pretty severe frost damage every winter).  All three are growing and looking good. My wife even caught the one in the cold area on fire using a weed burning torch mid-winter (nice way to remove the spines - yes they burn quickly).  Maybe one of you palm murderers out there will find a way to kill this but it will take some effort. I'll throw in the runty survivor too if you want it.

If I didn't have 2 in the ground already I would jump on this.

These grow well in SD and Matt has already done the hard yard to get it to this size.

That is a steal...  somebody jump on this

Sold. Pretty funny to post on an international forum and sell the palm in an hour to someone that lives a mile away from me that I've never met!  Great meeting you Jason, hope it grows good for you.
