Hybrid or Not?

Opinions on whether this is Butia X Jubea or straight Butia. It was given to me as a hybrid.F4856486-05F5-47CC-B966-18337C9CC1EC.thumb.jpeg.467fcb57e2b94be8f36721210bc35e59.jpeg

Id say 100% Butia without a doubt. Lets see what others think...

I don't see any Jubaea in that specimen at all. It looks 100% Butia to me, specifically a Butia Odorata (formally known as Capitata).

At a push, it could be a Butia Eriospatha, or an Odorata x Eriospatha hybrid Butia, but I seriously doubt that. It's probably just regular Butia Odorata in my opinion.

Thank you everyone, that confirms my feelings that it is not a hybrid. Nonetheless, like ahosey stated, I still think it’s a beautiful palm. I am using this palm to hybridize with so I didn’t want to call the offspring something that they were not.

I was thinking straight Butia as well.  There are a lot of so called hybrids out there unfortunately.  I think that many of these palms were intended to be hybrids but the people doing the hybridizing don't have the technique down.

Thank you for theInput everyone,  It was given to me for free and the owner did have some skepticism about it, so I can’t complain. I’m crossing it with schizophlla X queen so I wanted to know for sure what it is so I can label the offspring properly.

@freakypalmguy If you're crossing with that, Id gladdddlyyyyyyy take some seed off your hands if you think you can successful pull that one off.

:D it’s too soon to tell if the pollen was viable or that it accepted it,  it’s still dropping seed.
