Couldn't agree more.  Still one of my favorites since childhood.

@Josue Diaz might be common, but they are still one of my favorites!

Like the dark petioles on that one!

Who knows though, maybe it will lose that as it grows

Here's mine. The strap leaf is just starting to divide--proximally. This photo details the start of this leaf evolution.

I got a new butia for the front yard. Couldn't resist the double.

Common but drought tolerant, heat tolerant, and cold tolerant while producing edible fruit.

Can’t go wrong there. I planted 2 myself this year.

I haven’t had it myself. I can only go off what I’ve read here on PalmTalk and online.  But this year I wanted to add some edible palms so put in 2 Butia and a Euterpe Eudilis.

Sounds tasty to me.

The fruit from the one I have in the backyard has a peach flavor to it. Pretty good.

It's a unique sweet and tart flavor - most similar to a pineapple in my opinion - a very rich flavor, and full of sugar. If you fail to pick them, the sugars will cause them to ferment while still on the tree. You can smell a ripe bunch from several feet away with how fragrant the fruit is when ripe.
