I was up the hill from my house taking photos of the sunset and decided to take a picture of this Butia in my friend's yard.  I haven't asked him how old it is and if it was there when he bought the house in 1978.  Which Butia is it?  Sorry I didn't go around to the backyard to get a better photo including the trunk.

i don ' think it s a yatay .The leaves are too long for that.

The yatay leaves are shorter and very arching in the top of them

I don't recall seeing any on it currently, so I'll have to come back to the thread when it finally does have fruit on it again.

I've never sampled it's fruit.  Will have to ask my friend that owns it if he ever has.

Cell phone shots so I didn't have a lens to zoom in on the fruit that was hanging on it.  Most of it was held in tight to the crown.

That palm is amazing, it should be completely illegal to trim of a single living frond.

Zone 8b, Csb (Warm-summer Mediterranean climate). 1,940 annual sunshine hours 
Annual lows-> 19/20: -5.0C, 20/21: -5.5C, 21/22: -8.3C, 22/23: -9.4C, 23/24: 1.1C (so far!)
