I bought this seeding as a Dypsis Pembana but was told it could be either a cabadae or a flame thrower palm? Any ideas ? First puc waz 3 years ago and 2nd is now. Worrying as still very small.

Tough call, but I'd say it looks most like a chambeyronia, of the three.

Would agree Chambeyronia..

That's excactly the same photo you posted on your "Dypsis Pembana" tread, last September...:

We've discussed it, posted palm photos looked a like, and thought we've reached a positive ID. If you still have doubts, please post a fresh photo so we may assess it...again.

Totally agree!

I agree with @NatureGirl. The Pembana seedlings I had looked “reddish” at that size.

Dypsis pembana

The prominent veins on the leaves are a giveaway

Agree with everyone else: pembana. Looks just like the smaller off shoots of mine that are about that size.

Constantly wishing I could still grow zone 10 palms worry-free, but also trying to appease my strange fixation with Washingtonias.

I had a feeling I might be wrong about that.  Sorry about the loss of your possible Chambeyronia.

These are some of my watermelon Chambie's. There is a stippled rough appearance of the leaflet veins, making the veins appear somewhat like dotted lines. The axis of of the second bifid leaf seems to arise more above ground out of the raised stem. There is more precise terminology for this probably but the general "habit" is different.
