Hi,

      Can someone experienced help me?

Are these pigafetta palm tree seeds ( Pigafetta elata )? Did they look like they were still good?

Absolutely. Tiny little things

Congratulations on finding these seeds. Yes, they are definitely Pigafetta. They look fresh because the white skin turns dark brown laying on the ground. They might germinate as is, but I have had consistent success removing the snakeskin outer shell and planting only the much smaller seeds. They might start germinating in three or four weeks, but if you don't see anything after a month, don't give up. They might just be a bit slower. Seedlings need full sun from the start. I suggest planting them directly in 4" pots rather than using ziplock plastic bags. They seem to resent any disturbance to their fragile roots. Same goes for potting them up to the next size or planting them in the ground. A healthy looking seedling could be dead a few days after transplanting if there was any damage to the roots.

If you can keep them wet enough after they go in the ground, these will grow unbelievably fast. One of my favorites. Just plant them far from any structure or overhead utility lines.

Thank you. Germination in the sunlight or partial shade ?

Put in full sun. I had my seeds in the car for heat and they germinate fast

Thanks.

I'm still waiting for the seeds to arrive. In principle, if I am not mistaken, I will receive these or these because I cannot understand if they are the same. And maybe photographed differently.

Hi!

Those look great and are quite a find. But, I'm a little curious...you're going to sprout and grow them in a greenhouse, right? I know they really fast, but in our climate......unless you live in Madeira.

I live in Hawaii at about 1,500 elevation and we get cool wet weather in the winter and mine have not skipped a beat . As long as the days reach over 60 degrees you should be fine. On a side note 2 years from seed and I am about to see trunk

I will experiment with and without a greenhouse.

What is the minimum temperature resisted there and for how long. The literature says that Elata can take a little cold but little.
