Mine was quite purple when I first got it.  I don't know if it's true but some people claim that the small plants that are more purple will be more blue with age.

Yes, normal indeed to see this. It didn’t happen to my first plant but the 2nd one has a pinkish tone on the trunk. I’m hoping it does as others have stated and grow up to be super white

Weird for me to see, it seems like nurseries love to stock plants that are out of the local zone so I’m just unfamiliar with Bismarckia, no doubt a cool palm tree!!!!
