Chamaedorea tepejilote seeding

I took the following photos of some of my clumping C. tepejilote loaded with seeds. Usually the seeds stay small and abort but this year I notice a few seeds are large and black. Maybe I'll get a crop after all.

I concur, I've still got a jar in my fridge I haven't been able to pawn off on anyone.

Might be better fresh.

Beautiful palms!   I have one in a pot that i've had for about a year.  It's doing ok, but man is it SLOOOOOOW growing  ive got maybe 3 rings so far and they are fairly close together.  Do these pick up growth speed as they mature or?

I have a helper that I have come around every month or two to help me clean up the jungle. He is from Mexico and he recognized my tepejilotes. They pickle the male inflow. It gets its name from its look. It looks kind of like corn ... "elote""'

Some babies and one that looks like it needs to go to the chiropractor... or as Dave likes to say "Borracho"

Grow in full shade without the hint of any direct sun. Plenty of water during the hot months and it should stretch out for you. The picture I posted of one averages about 3 inches between rings.
