Multi trunked Phoenix roebelleni next to the house. Probably bought at Home Depot. Would be surprised if it doesn’t die this week. Top fronds got pretty burned during the freeze a few weeks ago

I have been seeing a lot of these in East Austin. I believe they are Sabal Louisiana. They have all doubled in size in past 3 years basically

Found a long term queen in Austin that must have been put in prior to 2007 and lasted 14 years 

 

 

October 2007

March 2011 (took out second queen)

May 2018 (defoliated)

June 2019 (looking incredible)

February 2020 (looking good as well)

77 rooftop bar at the domain has two dactyliferas on the roof. Both got pretty friend this past winter, one still has a lot of green on fronds, the other one only petioles are green. They should be liking the weather we are having though

Dead now but impressive former Robusta in north Austin. If you look towards top of trunk you'll see the trunk constriction from 2011 freeze that took out its brother
