Most of the focus of the articles I've read and shared thus far concentrate on reducing the effects of UHI.  I suppose for those of us attempting to squeeze a few degrees of cold protection out of our little slice of paradise, we'd just do the opposite.

I'd like to see more UHI studies done on the Winter months instead of the Summer months.  This is still valuable data, nonetheless.

Winter data for Florida would be great to see.  The rainfall increase even upwind (insignificant) in one article matches Florida's patterns except my house lol. I think it was just bad luck this time.  Explains the crazy radar echoes over Tampa every summer too.

The article A Numerical Model of the UHI by Leonard Myrup is the original model to calculate and predict the effect of urbanization, published in 1969.  ENVI-MET software is a more modern application geared toward designing cooler cities.

The Assessment of UHIs in Small and Mid-Sized Cities in Brazil applies similarly to smaller cities in subtropical climates.
