Palmpedia says that Copernicia alba often branches as a result of fires set intentionally in the grassland around the palm, whereby the bud is damaged but not destroyed, and it branches as a result.

Anybody ever set their trunking Copernicia alba on fire on purpose to see if they could get it to branch?

Thinking maybe I'd find a big one and try it.

I have one, but don't think I'm gonna try.  LOL  picture was taken last year and the palm from seed is about 21 years old.

I can appreciate not wanting to give it a shot… but if you did, you’d be a PT legend.  Lol
